BU now has the ability for staff to easily print to BU printers from virtually any personal device.
The process uses a tool called Papercut Mobility Print. Below are links for connecting from various types of devices.
Prerequisites:
- You must connect your device to BU_Wireless network first, both for setup and any time you wish to print.
- Before Setup, identify the name of the BU network printer you wish to print to. A label on the printer will typically be in the format [ XX_###_xxxxxxx ], with Building and Room number first (but not always).
- During setup, you will see the entire list of available printers, but you can only print to printers that you have already been granted access to. If you need to verify what printers you have access on your account, please contact BU IT Helpdesk.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the BU printer you are trying to connect is protected with secured PIN codes for printing and photocopying, these steps will not work, and you will not see the printer listed in PaperCut Mobility Print. Please contact BU IT HelpDesk for assistance if you need to connect to any such printer.
