Troubleshooting

Errors during Step 3)

'Account Not Found' errors - Multiple factors may be be the cause:

  • Account is not ready to be claimed yet - verify that you have received notice from BU that your account is ready to be claimed.
    • If you are a Graduate Studies applicant, please check with BU Admissions dept to verify that all secondary requirements for your admissions process have been met

  • One element of the info you provided is incorrect on BU Records
    • When entering your birthdate, if you do not see a calendar icon or the specific date format, try entering your date of birth info as mm/dd/yyyy (ie Jan 23, 1971 should be entered in as 01/23/1971)

    • The last name you are entering may not match BU records on file. This is mostly common if you have performed a last-name change since you first enrolled at BU, but did not inform BU Administrative departments of your name change. Be sure to enter the last name you would of used at the point of your first enrollment with BU.

    • You may contact us via https://helpdesk.brandonu.ca or email [email protected] for us to try and verify your account info at our end, but further redirections to other departments may be involved at certain points.

  • Your BU computer account may no longer exist in our system. This is typical if you are a returning student it has been 8 years or more since you last attended Brandon University. Please contact BU HelpDesk for confirmation and further steps.
