This article will show you how to go to your BU OneDrive utilities to recover deleted content

There are two major recovery options:  File Recovery and OneDrive Account Restoration

To begin, you must access the Online Management page for OneDrive, and you can reach it from one of several ways:

1) Windows - Open File Explorer > Right Click on the OneDrive header > Choose "View Online"

2) Windows - Click on the OneDrive icon in the lower-right > Choose the Option "View Online"

3) On any web browser, sign into your BU Office365 account at https://portal.brandonu.ca, then select the OneDrive icon

Option 1 - File Recovery

These are the steps when you wish to recover certain individual files that are no longer present in your OneDrive

When the OneDrive screen opens, choose "Recycle bin" on the left.

Scroll down through your list of deleted items, and find the file(s) you wish to restore. Highlight it and click "restore" at the top.

The item should return to its original location, which is noted at the end of the listing of the file's properties.

If you do not see the file(s) you are looking for, at the bottom of the list you can click on the "Second-Stage Recycle bin" and look there as well.

Option 2 - OneDrive account restoration

This process will restore your entirety of your OneDrive to a specific past point of history.

Be aware that any and all files added, changed, or modified after the selected restoration point's date will be entirely undone or removed. There is no selective recovery of things to keep and not keep, so this recovery option should be a 'last resort'

When the OneDrive screen opens, Click on the "Settings" gear icon on the right upper side of the page.

Choose "Restore your OneDrive"

Choose the date you wish to restore your OneDrive account back to, and Click Restore. You can restore the entirety of the changes done in your OneDrive up to 30 days in the past.

Note that prior to clicking "Restore", (but after selecting the date) the lower section of the page will populate to show what will be affected, and give you a furthering specific point of time where everything is altered back to.
