Office 356 – installing 32-bit application for program compatibility. Example - Office integration for use with Raiser’s Edge 7.9 (Raiser's Edge does not support the 64-bit version of MS Office)

Remove the 64-bit version of Office 365
- Click the windows icon in the lower-left corner of the screen
- Select Settings
- Select Apps
- In the middle window, scroll down and click on Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise – en-us
- Click the Uninstall button
- Click Uninstall again on the pop-up window
- When asked if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device, select Yes
- You may be prompted Ready to uninstall? Click Uninstall
- You will see a window with messaging and a progress bar Uninstalling…
- Reboot the computer

Install the 32-bit version of office 365
- Open a web browser and in the address field type in https://portal.brandonu.ca
- You will be taken to a BU sign-in page. Type in your BU email address and password, authenticating with the DUO prompt when it appears
- From the main screen, select the Install apps button located towards the top right-hand section of the screen
- Select Other install options
- Select View apps & devices
- From the Office – Version drop-down list, choose 32-bit
- Click Install Office
- If prompted to Open or Save As, save the file, which should save to the Downloads folder, the example below is from Microsoft Edge
- Once the file has downloaded, go to your downloads, and click the file OfficeSetup.exe to start the installation
- You may be prompted with a screen Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Select Yes
- A window will come up with We’re getting things ready… then it will disappear and in a few seconds another window will appear Please stay online while Office downloads along with a progress bar (roughly takes 15 minutes)
- The final screen will have the message You’re all set!, click Close
- Close any screens you have open
- To check for installed app, click the windows icon and scroll down the list to see if Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word can be found in the list of applications
- To pin an icon to the taskbar, right click the icon and select More – Pin to taskbar
- To create a shortcut on your desktop, right click the icon and select More – Open file location – find the icon in the list of items, right click the desired icon in the list, select Send to - Desktop (create shortcut)
