If you are having issues with wi-fi try these troubleshooting steps to improve your wi-fi experience.
- Turn your wi-fi off and on again
- Most devices have the ability to turn off your devices wi-fi radios, when you do this your device is then forced to connect to the wi-fi networks again and through that process it should pick the optimal wi-fi access point for your device. This helps if your device is what we call a "sticky" device where it connects to an access point but if you have moved it may not roam to a more optimal access point.
- Make sure you are connected to BU_Secure
- There are several wi-fi networks on campus and BU_Secure is the best option for all Students, Faculty, and Staff. This one is the most secure and most functionality. If you are connected to BU_Public for example, that network is designed for the general public, it has less access, and a 90-minute time limit which will cause your device to disconnect from the network.
